Eldon Dean Byrum, Sr.

Eldon Dean Byrum, Sr. was born November 9, 1946 in Westville, OK to Eldon & Maudena (Turner) Byrum. He departed this life on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 69 years, 7 months, & 13 days.

Dean attended grade school at Oak Ridge school & then Sapulpa High School. On May 1, 1970, in Muskogee, OK, Harriet Morrison & Eldon Dean Byrum, Sr. were united in marriage. The couple have been married for over 46 years. For those 46 years, Locust Grove has been their home.

Dean worked as a truck driver & diesel mechanic. He was a member of the Outlaw Cruisers Car Club & Wild Bunch Motor Sports. He was a car enthusiast and loved his 1940 Chevy Business Coup. Dean’s family was very important to him & he worked hard to keep his boys out of trouble. He loved taking care of his dogs & watching the Sci-Fi channel on TV. He will be missed dearly.

Dean is survived by: His wife: Harriet of the home; 2 sons: Dean “Dino” Byrum, Jr. & wife Debbie of Inola, OK & Donnie Byrum & wife Angelena of Locust Grove, OK; 6 grandchildren: Samantha Lynn Byrum, Seth Coger, Chase Dean Byrum, Crystal “Sissy” Byrum, Kelly Bradley, & Tracey Byrum & wife Kristin; 1 great grandson: Reed Lee Byrum; His father: Eldon Byrum of Garland, TX; 1 brother: Larry Byrum & wife Ginger of Houston, TX; 2 sisters: Diana Whittington of Ft. Worth, TX & Sherry Benson & husband Red of Wylie, TX; Best Friends: John Wilson & Jerry Ingram, Sr. A special cousin: Marie Goombi of Locust Grove, OK; Numerous other relatives & a host of friends; He was preceded in death by: his mother; an uncle: Don Turner; & his mother and father-in-law: Rhoda & Bob Morrison.

Rhoda Jane Morrison,   June 09, 1931 – May 28, 2016

One of the club’s charter members, Rhoda Jane Morrison, passed away May 28 at home surrounded by family. Graveside services for Rhoda, 84, a long time Locust Grove resident, will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 2, 2016, at the Hogan Cemetery in Locust Grove. Rhoda, a homemaker, was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Morrison. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bobby & Ramona Morrison, and daughter and son-in-law, Harriet & Dean Byrum, all members of the club, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
